Arby’s Big Brother Big Sister Scholarship Award April Applicant must have been a matched Little Brother or Little Sister in an affiliated program for at least one year.  



American Iris Society Scholarship April For students pursuing a career in horticulture or related fields. 



American Legion- American Legacy Scholarship April If you are the child of an active duty military, National Guard or Reserve personnel who died on active duty after September 11, 2001.  



American Nuclear Society Scholarship April For students pursuing a degree in Nuclear Engineering.  


CAPITAL Foundation Scholarship April For students of Asian heritage.  Based on academics and community involvement.  


DeMolay Foundation – Frank S. Land Scholarship April Student must be a member of the Northern California DeMolay.  Application must be requested from the foundation. 



DeMolay Foundation – Grotto of North America Scholarship  April For students interested in Dentistry or Medicine.  Student must be a member of the Northern California DeMolay.  Application must be requested from the foundation.  



Kristi Karacozoff Memorial Scholarship April For a student with a 3.0 GPA and a chronic or life-threatening illness.  



Outstanding Filipino Youth Awards April 3.5 GPA, outstanding achievement, leadership, community service, ethnic pride, essay, interview. 



Sacramento Area Fire Fighters  April Two scholarships will be awarded in general and two scholarships will be awarded to children of Local 522 members.  500 word essay  on  “Firefighters And The Job They Do.”  



VIP Women in Technology Scholarship April For women attending either a two year or four year college or university and are planning a career in information technology or a related field. 3.0 GPA .  Click on About VIP , then Community Support 



California Wine Growers Foundation April For the children of workers employed by winegrape growers.  Must be planning to attend a UC, CSU or a California Community College. 



Diane Dawson Memorial Scholarship April For students who have a parent with terminal cancer or another terminal illness, or who have lost a parent to a terminal illness.  2.5 GPA .  



Knights of Columbus Scholarship April Must be practicing Catholics of St. Joseph’s parish Elk Grove, transcripts, involvement in activities outside of classroom.   Essay required.  



AFSA/American Fire Sprinkler Association April Read the “Fire Sprinkler Essay” essay and answer 10 questions regarding it.



American Fire Sprinkler Scholarship Contest April Students will answer a ten question “open-book” multiple-choice test from the online essay.  Students will receive one entry for each correct answer.



Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc April For students of African American descent.  Based on academics and school and community service.

Education is Freedom National Scholarship  April This scholarship is geared towards the “B” student.  3.0 – 3.5 GPA , Financial need, community service, work history.  



Harness Horse Youth Foundation April Must either be involved in or a dependent of   parents involved in the Harness Racing industry.  



Sacramento County Young Farmers & Ranchers April For students interested in pursuing an education in the field of agriculture.  Based on scholastic achievement, leadership skills and agricultural involvement.  



Sacramento Farm Bureau Foundation for Agricultural Education April For a student whose parent or guardian is employed within agriculture or agriculture related industries.  Based on financial need, leadership skills, career goals, scholastic achievement and community service.  



UNCF-Footlocker Foundation Scholarship April 2.5 GPA, Student must plan to attend an UNCFmember college or university.




Young Native Writers Essay Contest April Open to all Native American Indian and Alaskan Native high school students who are enrolled members of a state- or federally-recognized tribe.



City of Elk Grove/Allied Waste April The City of Elk Grove and Allied Waste are offering a scholarship to seniors in EGUSD. The student is asked to describe ways in which you currently protect the environment and skills you would like to gain that would promote sustainability.  


 
Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute April Hispanic students.  Based on financial need, public service oriented activities balanced with academics. 



Good Neighbor Club of Del Paso Heights April 2.0 GPA based on school or community service, personal letter.

Organization of Chinese Americans April For Asian Pacific American women.  3.0 GPA Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident and demonstrate financial need.  



California Capital Airshow April For students who plan to pursue a professional career in any aviation related field such as aviation management, aeronautics, aerospace engineering, aeronautical mechanics and electronics or other related fields.   



National Association of Black Journalists Scholarship April For students interested in pursuing careers in journalism. Student is required to become a member of the NABJ.  Various scholarships available.  Requirements vary per scholarship.  



Philip M. Dowd Memorial April For students who plan to pursue a degree in Public Affairs/Administration or Political Science & Government.  3.0 GPA.  2 or 4 year college, financial need 

Mark McCollum “Ride On” Scholarship (Sacramento Region Community Foundation) April Be pursuing an engineering or construction degree at CSU Sacramento. 2.5 GPA. 

Viola M. Brooks Civic and Social Club April 2.0 GPA Based on Community service and personal statement. 


Young Cancer Survivors Scholarship Program April Cancer survivors diagnosed before the age of 18.  Financial need.  
National Latino Peace Officers Association Scholarship April For students majoring in the criminal justice field.  Based on academic achievement, accomplishments, financial need, community involvement, participation in school and contributions to the community. 2.5 GPA and financial need.  


Southwest Airlines and the HACU Education Travel  Award Program April Southwest will provide roundtrip airline tickets to students with socio-economic need who travel away from home to pursue a higher education.


James McClatchy 25-Year Club Scholarship April Must be a child, grandchild or great grandchild of a 25-Year Club member at the Sacramento Bee, BeeIT or McClatchy Corporate. 3.0 GPA .  Financial need.  



A.W. Bodine-Sunkist Memorial Scholarship April A background in California or Arizona agriculture – the student or someone in the student’s immediate family must have derived the majority of his or her income from agriculture; financial need and GPA and extracurricular activities indicative of potential for success.  



Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc April Must be planning to attend a 4 year college. 2.5 GPA  Essay required highlighting achievements, community services and future goals.  



Filipino-American Community-wide Scholarship April For students of Filipino-American descent.  3.0 GPA.  Based on academics and community service.  Short essay.  



Holocaust Remembrance Project April In an essay of no more than 1200 words, analyze why it is vital to remember and pass to a new generation the history and lessons of the Holocaust, and suggest what they, as students, can do to combat and prevent prejudice, discrimination and violence in our world today.   



Nehemiah Community Foundation, Inc. April Financial need. 3.0 GPA Community service through school, church, or community.  200 word application statement required.  For students who have participated in U-CAN meetings



Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated April 2.5 GPA, transcript, 2 letters of recommendations. 2 page essay.

UCAN – Noglia Rowe-Leach Memorial Scholarship April For students who have been involved with UCAN and plan to attend a Historically Black College. 2.5 GPA Based on leadership, public service and church activities.  



UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship program April Either an epilepsy patient or family member/caregiver of an epilepsy patient.  Based on academic achievement, activities, and role model.


Native American Caucus Scholarship April 2.0 GPA.  Native American descent

Hispanic Scholarship Fund – Ford Motor Company Fund Scholarship Program  April For students of Hispanic heritage.  Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident.  3.0 GPA


Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce May Students must be attending college full time and majoring in studies leading to a degree in business, computer science, engineering, health services or program leading to a professional career.  Must be of Hispanic origin. Must live in the six sacramentoo regional areas.




Air Traffic Control Association May There are two scholarships available.  Remember to specify the one that applies.

Aspiring Animation Professional Scholarship Program May  Student should have a passion and drive for an animation and/or design related career. Based on academic performance and essay. 



Bridgestone Safety Scholars Contest May The contest is open to students between the ages of 16-21.  Entrants must possess a valid driver's license and be enrolled as full-time students in high school, college or trade school.  If you've got a compelling, creative idea related to safe driving.



Edward Scott Morrison Scholarship May Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate at UCLA .Identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, or transgender. Preference to those who are committed to LGBT leadership. Preference to those who have shown a commitment to community service. 




Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation May  High School students in grades 9-12.  Enter the 2006 Holocaust Remembrance Project, a national essay contest for high school students that is designed to encourage and promote the study of the Holocaust. 



Lambda Theta Nue Sorority, Inc May Applicant must be a female of Latino Heritage or has demonstrated dedication to community service and empowerment of Latina/o community.



National Association of Theatre Owners May To be eligible a student must work a total of 500 hours from April 16, 2003– April 15, 2004 at either United Artists or Century Theatres.  Applications available after October 1 at the theatres. 3.0 GPA required.



National Society of Black Engineers – Tony Harris Scholarship May Community or school activities. 2.5 GPA, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering.


Norman Mailer High School Writing Award   May This year’s contest is based on creative non-fiction.  Students may submit work in any of the many subgenres of creative nonfiction: memoir or autobiography, essay, literary journalism, profiles of people or places, and so on.  


Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity Scholarship May Any male senior attending the University of Arizona in the fall.


Portuguese Historical & Cultural Society May Portuguese descendency within five generations.3.0 GPA in academic courses.  300 word essay


SERTOMA Scholarship for Students who are Hard of Hearing or Deaf May 3.2 GPA Student must have a minimum 40dB bilateral hearing loss as evidenced on audiogram by an SRT of 40dB or greater in both ears. Must be a US citizen. 


Triple Impact Competitor Scholarship Program May Current Juniors.  2.5 GPA Must be a student athlete who has made positive contributions on three levels; Personal Mastery, Leadership, Honoring the Game


First U.S. Community Credit Union Scholarship Program May Student must be a First U.S. Community Credit Union member. 3.0 GPA.  2 scholarships are offered.  
County of Sacramento, Department of Human Assistance, African American Caucus May Must be a Sacramento  resident, 2.5 GPA.  Based on achievements, leadership, community involvement, and school activities.
Actuarial Diversity Scholarship May For students of African American, Hispanic, or Native North American descent. 3.0 GPA  SAT Math 600 or ACT Math 28 score. Intent on pursuing a career in the actuarial profession.  


CAPEDS May 2.0 GPA. Based on need, scholastic achievement, initiative, extra-curricular activities


Cal Berkeley Alumni Scholarship May A student from Florin High planning to attend  U.C. Berkeley



CSE Insurance Group May Minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicant accepted to an accredited 2 or 4 yr college or univ., or trade school, enrolled as a full-time freshman by the Fall 2012 session. The applicant's parent or legal guardian must be currently employed full-time or if retired or 


SunTrust Off To College Sweepstakes May High school seniors can win a $1,000 scholarship.   One winner will be chosen every two weeks. Winner's school of attendance will also receive $1,000. Students can begin registering September 15, 2005, and the first drawing will be held on October 31, 200


Admiral Grace Murray Hopper Scholarship May This scholarship is for women who are incoming college freshmen. Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science and/or computer engineering. Must have a 3.5 GPA, be enrolled full-time, and be US citizens or permanent residents of the United States. Applicants must not be receiving full funding for their education from another organization.                                     


Asian Peace Officers Association, Inc May 3.0 GPA. Scholarship based on Academic performance, scholastic aptitude, demonstrated motivation and ability, community service and involvement, and financial need.



Educational Communications Scholarship Foundation May For students who have been awarded Who’s Who Among American High School Students or the National Dean’s List.  Must be U.S. Citizen, have taken either the ACT or SAT.  Based on Academics, activities, and financial need.    


Heather Kase Scholarship May Applicants to the ThanksUSA Scholarship Program must: Be dependent children of U.S. military service personnel and be current high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in a fulltime3 undergraduate course.


National Academy of American Scholars May Merit based scholarship.  2.0 GPA or higher, U.S. Citizen and completed SAT or ACT test.  For those seniors who have achieved outstanding accomplishments and who contribute to the betterment of humanity.  $25 processing fee.

The AVID-COLLEGE HORIZONS Scholarship May The College Horizons Scholarship is a “last dollar grant” and is intended to address any unmet need left after a student has received his or her financial aid package. Graduating seniors who have participated in the AVID program for a minimum of 3 years.
