The mission of the MTHS Counseling Department is to promote life-long learning and a successful transition from high school to post-secondary opportunities. Counselors help address the diverse, cultural and academic needs of ALL students.

TRANSCRIPTS & STUDENT RECORDS: Please contact Debbie Gonzalez, registrar, at the main office number (916)688-0050 or send an email through School Loop.



STUDENTS: Please stop by the counseling office in the morning, during lunch, or after school to complete a Counselor Request form. Make sure to complete all parts of the form. You can also email your counselor through School Loop to request an appointment.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Please contact the Counseling Office to schedule an appointment. You can also email your student's counselor through School Loop to request an appointment.



Please read the attached HOW TO Get a Work Permit info sheet completely. Permits are issued for either the School year or Summer and must be renewed at the end of those cycles. Return work permits to Ms. Rose, MTHS's counseling secretary. Work permits usually take 24 hours to process. Please visit Ms. Rose in the counseling office or call her at (916)688-0055 to find out more information about work permits.

Letter of Recommendation

Need a Letter of Recommendation? Open the attached form, fill it out, and either print or save it to your computer and send electronic copies to those you are requesting from. Remember: Give the writer at least 2 weeks notice to write the letter.

Community Service Logs

See the links below for the Community Service log and info sheet. It is recommended that students make a photocopy of their logs before they turn them in to their Advocacy Teacher in order to tally their hours for scholarship and college applications as Seniors.

Food Handler Card

To receive a food handler card:

1) Visit

2) Watch a video

3) Take and pass the test at the end of the video

3) Print out your food handler card and certificate of completion

* costs about $15.00
