Roughly one in five youth will experience a diagnosable mental illness during their lifetime. Sacramento County’s “Mental Illness: It’s not always what you think” project aims to promote messages of hope and recovery, encourage conversation around mental illness, underscore that mental illness can impact anyone and that recovery and success is possible.

WHEN YOU REGISTER TO TAKE THE SAT/ACT

  1. Remember to have the scores “sent when available” (there is a limited time after the test date(s) for the score reports to be sent for free).                     
  • Ä SAT (only) – Send to any CSU.  There is a code 3594 to send to all CSU’s.
  • Ä ACT (only) - send your ACT scores to one CSU school. 
  • Ä SAT and ACT – send scores to one UC school, then all UC schools (to which you apply) will receive the scores
  • Ä send remaining/additional score reports to preference or out-of-state schools
  • Ä send ALL scores - when looking at applications, the college(s) will only look at the scores that give the best admission chances
    • some schools “Super Score,” which means that they will look at all tests and take the best score for each section
      1. UC schools require the SAT/ACT Writing portion for their admissions.
      2. Athletes wanting/hoping to play any sport at a Division I or II College must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center.                    www.EligibilityCenter.org
  • Ä code 9999 – sends SAT/ACT scores to the Eligibility Center
  • Ä registration fee required (if you qualify for the SAT/ACT fee waivers, then you will qualify for the NCAA waiver - see the Athletic Director)

SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT


STUDENTS: Please stop by the counseling office in the morning, during lunch, or after school to complete a Counselor Request form. Make sure to complete all parts of the form. You can also email your counselor through School Loop to request an appointment.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Please contact the Counseling Office to schedule an appointment. You can also email your student's counselor through School Loop to request an appointment.

 

WORK PERMIT INFO


Please read the attached HOW TO Get a Work Permit info sheet completely. Permits are issued for either the School year or Summer and must be renewed at the end of those cycles. Return work permits to Ms. Rose, MTHS's counseling secretary. Work permits usually take 24 hours to process. Please visit Ms. Rose in the counseling office or call her at (916)688-0055 to find out more information about work permits.

Need a Letter of Recommendation? Open the attached form, fill it out, and either print or save it to your computer and send electronic copies to those you are requesting from. Remember: Give the writer at least 2 weeks notice to write the letter.
