We hope that the 2018 - 2019 school year has been going well for you. It is very important that you monitor your academic progress during the year. Seniors must meet graduation requirements in order to participate in the graduation ceremony and earn a diploma in May 2019.


Some of the requirements are:

1) Earn 220 credits

2) Pass all required subjects (you must pass the following courses: English 12, Government, Economics, Math, and all other courses you are enrolled in)

3) Pass the technology and speech proficiencies

4) Pass 10 credits of math during your senior year

5) Pass 35 out of 40 credits in Terms 3 and 4

Senior Year Expectations

Seniors and Parents –

Many of you may find the next few months very stressful. We want to give you a heads-up about some help that is coming your way!

12th Grade College & Career Development Units are designed to help our seniors get through their final year of high school, and then on to where they want to be after graduation. 

In Career Units, we will... 

  • Discuss the Senior Year timeline, letters of recommendation, and current scholarships.
  • Review/Discuss what you need to know for each post high school option, including full-time work, military, vocational/technical school, community college, and 4-year college/university. 
  • Cover all of the college application process, including online examples, fee waivers, personal insight questions, and letters of recommendation. 
  • Information for the Senior Year Timeline and current scholarships.
  • Full review of the Financial Aid process, including FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), Cal Grants, Student Aid Reports (SAR), Expected Family Contribution (EFC), and financial aid award letters
  • Provide online examples, deadlines, and due dates.
  • Details of the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation application process
