How do I make a senior portrait appointment?

Please call Prestige Portraits, (916) 535-7799 and leave a message.  Their address is 3159 Dwight Rd, Elk Grove, CA 95758.

I've left messages and have not received a response from the studio.  Their online appointment calendar is not working.  What should I do?

Due to the massive numbers of seniors who have to be photographed in Elk Grove/Sacramento, Prestige has blocked out high schools to be photographed for certain days. Monterey Trail's appointment days are Dec 21,22,23 and Dec 27,28,29.  Postcards will go out in December with pre-assigned appointment time slots to confirm.

I've heard some seniors have already taken their portraits, but I haven't been able to.  Why?

Again, due to the large volume and the changing circumstances with COVID, Prestige is adapting and changing the plan with changes in what is allowed. Perhaps this is a matter of luck when students called the studios and someone was able to provide them with a time slot. At this point, you should expect the postcard with your scheduled appointment in December.

What are the Attire Requirements?

The theme is "Interview Ready" or "Semi Formal."  Basically, no graphic T-shirts, logos/slogans, tank tops, props and hats, and you'll be fine.  If seniors would like to wear the traditional black drape or tux, please email Trang Tran, our yearbook advisor, for the Amazon links to purchase these items.  She can provide suggested links if you are interested.

How can I get a cap and gown, and can I wear it for my senior portrait?

Cap and gowns should be ordered through Jostens (see below) and will be delivered in the spring. Cap and gowns are allowed for senior portraits for personal use, but not for the portrait submitted for the yearbook.  Students will need to upgrade (i.e. pay more for) their poses if they want to add a cap and gown portrait.  Students are allowed to borrow a cap a gown from a friend or relative for their upgraded portrait package.  Prestige will not have items to borrow in their studios.

Can I use my own photographer?

You may always use your own photographer, but, unfortunately, the yearbook is only able to accept portraits from Prestige Portraits, our only school's approved vendor.

When do I have to take my portrait if I want it in the yearbook?

The deadline for senior portraits for the yearbook is February 22, 2021.

How do I order my cap, gown, and tassel?
Jostens is our vendor for cap and gowns and orders should be placed through their website. Jostens Website  If you are interested in ordering the basic cap, gown, and tassel or obtaining a loaner click HERE.  The price for the basic set is $27, which goes up after January (price is now $45). All orders will be delivered at the school in the spring. Additional information can be obtained from our Jostens rep, Pat Cummings, at 916-389-0018 or in this VIDEO.  If you order your cap and gown now, the order will be available in approximately 1-2 weeks after your order and can be picked up in the front office.

Will Graduation be a virtual ceremony this year?
We are currently planning for three different scenarios so that we may offer seniors the best possible celebration. There will be a virtual ceremony for sure. This will ensure we have some celebration no matter what is being allowed by the County Health Department at the time. This will also allow students and families to share the celebration with others who may not be able to attend if we are allowed an actual ceremony with limited numbers.  Golden 1 Center is still a possibility if it were to be approved by the County Health Department in time to plan and organize an event there. We are also exploring possibilities for an outdoor celebration if those conditions would be permitted.
